Archive: Holme Valley Beagles

This one could run & run.

I haven't found any ones earlier of me in uniform...must be ca. 83/4
(ie 16/17!!)

Similar time, on the banks above Digley Res. Dad took this one, and I remember thinking how sodding cold it was....

Little HV April could squeeze through the tightest bars.....here's proof....

Comely, Echo, April & Snowdrop

Me & the late "AB" at a lawn meet at "Hunters House" Nr Woodnook, ca '88 (ish)

Rog at the same meet.

Clarkie sometime in the early noughties on the Hathersage side of Standedge, Nr Sheffield.

Rog & Andy Noble at Chatsworth.
It would be nice to resurrect that as a regular parade, it was a brilliant show to go to.

A random one-off at "Ings" near Staveley, South Cumbria. There might be some more of these in time, but this one just came to the surface of the box of old snaps.

Paul & I parading the HVB at Wortley, ca 89 I think.

Bill McNab (I think??) Rog & AB at Harrogate, ca 88

Dr Grom & the HVB entry that year, whichever it was....

Me & Grom feeding hounds.
I suspect these might have been on the same day as the ones below, but can't be certain..

Frank Stacey telling me where to draw. Charlie in the background....

Charlie telling me to ignore Frank and go where the heck I wanted.....

Frank stomping off....

In days gone by it was the way of things to walk to the majority of meets, in the valley at least. The Boxing Day I hunted the HVB (Definitely 1988) I decided to walk from Upperthong to The Fleece, at Holme, in the same manner..BEFORE hunting a full (split) day. How stupid was that??

Arnold, Grom & Our Kid joined me in this silly venture....somebody else must have as I can't remember who took the pictures....

Archive: Quorn Miscellany

I have no idea why I either didn't take, or have a better camera, or whatever, during my time visiting the village of  Wilson, and subsequently Melbourne, but these are currently the only pictures I can find of then...

Must have been around 1999, possibly 98? Whenever Adrian Dangar was huntsman?

 Linda on "Melda" (I think)

 Oh my goodness..... No comment.

Archive: CVB Miscellany

As the title says.

Given my heavy and long involvement with the CVB this will no doubt be revisited as I get around to scanning more old pictures in to the machine.........

A meet on Arnfield, some time in the early 1990s....

Before the old kennels cottage was made habitable. I think this must have been at a puppy show or something similar.

The mask is from the meet immortalised in the "White House Hunt Song" written by Malcolm.

The four above are from a visit to the Lakes, it was a Thursday, as I would have been up there with the HVB and they didn't do the Thursday as there were Sheepdog Trials on in Kentmere where they were based......
A positive "rogues gallery" at a puppy show at the CVB kennels......

 "Dungeon Cottage"

Barbara's CVB Anniversary cake.....

Me, Dibby and CTP. This was on the hill behind Heyden, Kevin would have been huntsman, and it was blowing a fierce breeze which is why we were trying to get some shelter on a peat hag....

I would have been with the Pennine at this point, and Stewart the CVB. Honley Show, when it was still on the old Bradshaw Road site, probably around 1992/3, maybe slightly later, but Glenn would still have been the PFH huntsman.

Kevin on the same day with the CVB.

Me with Stewart at Emley Show, probably around 2003ish. I'm not sure if it's one my Dad took, or my then "OH".
