Archive: Lakes Visits Again

All these are from a day with the Coniston. Definitely pre-ban.

 Unboxing....

L-R: u/k girl, Niall, Charlie, Dibby (seated) u/k x2 stood, Dave Wild seated, Jake, rest unknown.

A very hot day, a surprised (and huge) stag joining in the fun, a tremendous bolt, and some very cold Guinness in the Mortal Man afterwards with some very good company......

Archive: Lakes Easter Visits

As the title says.

Unfortunately I didn't file them originally in any kind of order, but they will all be pre-ban as I had a proper camera after that....

The (now disbanded) "Lyth Valley Mink Hounds"

Chris Thornborrow draws somewhere in the South Lakes....

The Eskdale & Ennerdale waiting for a very wet fox to bolt....

I might be wrong but I think this is the late Robin Barnes, of the Warwickshire Beagles. Please correct me anyone if he's still with us!

I'm not 100% sure of the location of this Easter meet of the Blencathra, but it was while John Bell was still whipping in to them.

 Joan sings! (Like a lark)
The meet at the Ullswater Hotel.
Grommit sings! (Robin in the foreground)

There's little anyone can add to this....
 The E&E at a borran....

 Dibby going walk-about....

Three of Mr Todhunter on the very edge of the world.....

Dibby, Neil & Christy Kilgour watching an enormous circuit of the E&E at Little Langdale, top day that was.

Credence

Presented without comment....

Dawn Tree

Stereotypical "Tree-in-Mist" sort of shot.....Have no idea where it was, but it's pre- my having a digital camera....

Anger Works In Mirrors

A derelict cottage at Holme Styes this afternoon. Seemed to pictorially sum up my old existence somehow.

Archive: HVB Miscellany

This is an archive-tag that will be revisited as I whipped-in to the HVB for 8 seasons, (16-24) followed them for a few before that, and have a good few pictures collected over that time.

In no particular order then:

At the Huntsman.
(Huntsman D.Clarke)

 "Issues Road, Holme"
Me & our kid at a Puppy Show at their then Kennels at New Close Farm, Upperthong.

Mr Stacey, the then KH, me & Paul.
Our then Huntsman, Mr Roe scaling a wall, but while I think it's in the South Lakes somewhere I can't be 100% sure.

"HV Darkness & Dipper"

Added: Boxing Day at The Fleece, with D.Clarke as Huntsman.

Archive: CVB in Wales 1990-something

During the course of "the old blog" I began to post some pictures from way back. I wore out my old Canon scanner with over-working it, but not so many pictures made it to the blog itself. In the course of moving I am having what can only be described as a bit of a clear out, of books, comics, CDs, etc etc, and this includes all my "old" photos.

Before binning them though I am scanning selectively......(relatively) and am going to bore you with the results.

Starter for ten:

 Mark & Willy

Charlie Boy

L-R Chris North, Mark, Kevin & (I think) Peter H.

Kevin

L-R: u/k, Alun, (in the back of the Lada) Di, Melvin (I think), Charlie, & u/k but possibly Grommit.

 Willy & Kevin.

 Charlie (enjoying himself) & Sophie.

L-R: u/k, Di, Peter, Junior Fallowfield, Chris North, Kevin.
L-R: Jagger, Peter, Kevin, Shona, seated is Diddy Dean.
 Kevin, Soph, Jnr Fallowfield.

Diddy, u/k (w child), Jagger, Kevin, u/k, Jnr Lindley.

 A very moustached Charlie...
 The victory salute.....
These may well be an amalgam of two separate Wales trips, but I am not sure. They'd be late 1980s or early 90s though.

The CVB use to visit the Barmouth/Llanbedr region on August Bank Holiday weekend. Arriving Friday evening for a serious drink then 7am start, break for a big fried breakfast, then a five o'clock afternoon meet....also followed by serious drinks.... This was repeated on Sunday (Hush my mouth) and Monday morning.

We called it "Basic Wales" and it was surprising just how little sleep & how much alcohol you could fit into such a small time frame......

My first visit saw one of my co-drinkers go up to bed as the huntsman was pulling his boots on for the morning's meet......He simply changed footwear and put his coat on and turned around to go out. Mad though it might seem, he was the driver for the hound van.....

How we survived "Basic Wales" I will never know. These days we go a bit later in the year, and keep it a bit more civilised....honest.
