CVB Holme Moss 23/2/13

Two minutes and fifty second of beagling on some very exposed & flipping cold ground.

Last Saturday, 23rd February 2013.

Location: Holme Moss, The border between West Yorkshire & Derbyshire.

Time: 9.00AM

Temperature: -11°C

Bloody cold.

 This is clearly not beagling.

 This, in spite of the absence of beagles in the photo, is.

This is Charlie.

The low cloud, and perishing cold, with a strong draught, kept us from turning out on time, and for an hour and a half it was touch and go as to whether or not we would get out at all.

In the revamped Blog this is the first time I've mentioned what is one of my favourite pastimes, namely tramping around the hills and moors watching and (formerly) hunting a pack of beagles, the Colne Valley Beagles in fact. In the Picasa album to the right hand side of this page there will be a good few pictures from the old Blog relating to the subject.....

It will get mentioned again.

Just Driving

After the first hour and a half of hunting yesterday, when they'd gone way out over into the next valley, I went off to Morrison's to buy our kid a box of beer for his birthday, I know hardly original, but what did you expect? This clip is part of the drive down into Meltham.

It contrasts somewhat with other previous driving videos I've posted.

It's a lovely song though, and I found it originally on "The Spill" an eclectic site to follow on your feeder if you like hearing new music that never seems to make it to the radio....

The music is definitely NOT mine, but the awesome "Fink". The video clips are though, and are holiday themed for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, not having been on one for some considerable time now......

I'll have to let you decide whether I went through the wardrobe this time, or just a time warp.

There are things in my world that I am happy to share, and some that I am not. Likewise there are probably some things in my world that I am happy to share, but common decency and sense dictate that I keep my big mouth shut.

I'll opt to do just that.

Today held terror, sadness, fear, anticipation, regret, and a mountain of other emotional boulders, all perched ready to form their own overwhelming avalanche.

There was no tremor, no crack in the ground, nor sky, nothing to dislodge the rock-slide, and so little to report. I worked in somebody's garden, I came home. There are too many "I"s in this, so it might be a good time to stop before I write more than would be acceptable.

Glad that I don't live in Batley though.

Co-codamol is helping my insanely painful back. I'm wondering if it needs any help from Bradfield Brewery's "Farmer's Blonde", and thinking it could be worth the risk.
